Emergency Plumbing

Burst pipes, failed flexi hoses and floods. The original copper in these estates is now forty five to fifty five years old and fails in pinholes rather than bursts, so a service line leak waters your lawn for months before anyone notices.

Emergency call-outs

Hot Water

Repairs and same-day swaps on gas, electric, heat pump and solar. In a four bedroom house, running out every morning is usually a sizing problem rather than a failure, and we will say so.

Hot water repairs

Gas Fitting

Licensed gas work with the certificate lodged every time. Pool heaters and alfresco kitchens get added to lines never sized for them, so we calculate load against distance first.

Licensed gas fitting

Taps, Leaks & Burst Pipes

Dripping taps, hidden leaks and burst pipes traced and fixed. On a long service run the leak is often out in the lawn, so we listen along the pipe rather than dig at the damp spot.

Toilets & Tapware

New toilets, vanities and tapware fitted in one visit, including the original rough-ins in houses built through the 1970s and 80s.

What a plumber costs in Castle Hill

Barely any plumbing site will name a price. These are 2026 Sydney entry figures, put here so you have something firm to measure a quote against, ours included. They are the general numbers: what it costs to get someone out and what the market charges by the hour. Pricing for specific work sits on each service page.

01

Getting someone out: $0–$180

Book through here and there is no attendance fee. Arranged another way, a standard Sydney call-out sits toward the top of that band.

02

The hourly rate you will be quoted elsewhere: $100–$150

The ordinary daytime rate in Sydney, and the quiet basis of most quotes. We do not charge hourly, and the reason is set out below.

03

After hours, weekends and holidays: $180–$250

The usual loading for nights and weekends. We do not apply one: the figure agreed before we leave is the figure you pay.

04

A typical emergency repair: $250–$700

Making a burst safe, clearing a long line, isolating a gas fault. Priced as a job, not as time ticking from arrival.

05

Your fixed price: agreed first

Written down before work begins. If what we find alters the job, nothing goes ahead until you have approved the new number.

Two of those figures are the market's rather than ours, and they are there deliberately. An hourly rate measures the plumber's time, not your problem, and it puts a slow afternoon on your bill. We price the job itself, so the number you approve is the number you pay. Where you already know what you need, the real figures live on the blocked drains, pipe relining, burst pipes and leaks, hot water and gas fitting pages.

The difference between a plumber and a licensed plumber.

Anyone can call themselves a plumber. A licensed one carries a NSW licence number, real insurance, and the legal accountability that comes with both, so when a gas job is certified or a repair signed off, it actually means something.

Our plumbers hold a NSW licence, carry full insurance and work the Hills constantly. Every job meets the Australian Standards and carries a written lifetime workmanship warranty.

Plumbing in Castle Hill

Castle Hill was subdivided out of orchard land from the 1960s onwards, and the standard through the seventies and eighties became a four bedroom brick-and-tile house on 700 to 900 square metres. That block size decides most plumbing here: the sewer and the water service both run thirty metres or more from the house to the street, so faults are often nowhere near the building and locating them properly is what keeps a repair small. From Baulkham Hills and Kellyville through Cherrybrook and Glenhaven, a licensed local plumber is minutes away, same-day and 24 hours for genuine emergencies.

Common plumbing problems we see in Castle Hill

  • Reactive-clay pipe cracks. On a 900 square metre block the sewer runs thirty metres or more to the street. More pipe means more joints, and a fault that is frequently well down the yard with nothing visible above it.
  • Hot water systems giving out. Sydney's water is soft, so a dead unit here is usually a spent anode or element, not scale. We repair or replace gas, electric, heat-pump and solar, often same day.
  • Ageing galvanised & earthenware pipe. Older homes in Kellyville, North Castle Hill and Glenhaven still run on steel and clay pipe that rusts, roots and splits over time.
  • Gas fitting & compliance. Cooktops, heaters and gas lines in older homes often hide non-compliant runs. Our licensed gas fitters bring them up to code and certify on the spot.
  • Gas added over decades. Pool heaters, alfresco kitchens and barbecue points, each extended from a meter thirty metres away. The joints at those extensions are where leaks live, not the original run.
  • Storm & stormwater backups. Heavy Castle Hill downpours overwhelm stormwater pits and back up into yards and under houses.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you're tied up right now, leave your details and we'll call you straight back as soon as possible.

Still have a question? Licensed plumber van servicing Castle Hill
How much does a plumber charge per hour in Castle Hill?

Most Sydney plumbers sit around $100 to $150 an hour, but hourly rates hide the real cost. We quote the whole job upfront before we start, so you approve a fixed price with no meter running and no bill shock.

How fast can you get to me in Castle Hill?

For genuine emergencies we aim to have a licensed plumber to you within the hour across Castle Hill and the surrounding suburbs, day or night, weekends and public holidays included.

Do you charge a call-out fee?

We'll always tell you any call-out or after-hours fee before we come out, so there's never a surprise on the invoice. Book online and we'll waive the standard call-out fee entirely.

How do I know you're a licensed plumber?

Our NSW plumbing licence is 368473C, and you can verify it on the NSW Fair Trading register. Unlicensed plumbing work is illegal in NSW and voids your insurance, so always ask for the number. We put ours on every quote.

My hot water system failed and it isn't that old. Why?

Sydney's water is soft, so unlike harder-water cities it's rarely limescale that kills a unit here. Usually it's a spent sacrificial anode or a failed element, which we can often repair. We'll tell you whether a repair or a replacement is the smarter spend before touching it.

Why is the blockage always so far from the house?

Very likely. Much of Castle Hill sits on Usually roots at one joint rather than the ground itself. On a thirty metre run there are plenty of joints and, on blocks this size, plenty of established planting above them. We locate which joint before quoting, because lining is priced per metre and the answer changes the price.

Do you work on the original 1970s and 80s houses?

Yes, and they are most of our work here. The estates went up through the 1970s and 1980s, which puts the original copper and drainage at forty five to fifty five years old. That is the age at which several things reach end of service life together, and we work through it without cutting corners.

Can my gas line actually run a pool heater?

Often not without checking. A pool heater is one of the largest domestic gas loads there is, and it is usually added to a line sized in the 1980s for a stove and a hot water service. Add thirty metres of run and the pressure at the far end drops further. We calculate the load against the actual distance before connecting, which is the difference between a heater that works and one that disappoints every winter.

What areas around Castle Hill do you cover?

The whole Castle Hill LGA and every suburb around it: North Castle Hill, Kellyville, Cherrybrook, West Pennant Hills, Glenhaven, Dural, Rouse Hill, Middle Dural and more.

Hot water systems we service and replace

Hot water is our most frequent call, and in this housing storage tanks dominate. Most were sized for the household that lived here decades ago rather than the one that lives here now. Repairing and replacing hot water systems is most of what we do here, and we are straight about what each job costs and the age at which a unit stops being worth fixing.

We service and replace these systems as an independent licensed plumber. We are not an agent for, or endorsed by, any of these manufacturers.
