Plumbing in Castle Hill
Castle Hill was subdivided out of orchard land from the 1960s onwards, and the standard through the seventies and eighties became a four bedroom brick-and-tile house on 700 to 900 square metres. That block size decides most plumbing here: the sewer and the water service both run thirty metres or more from the house to the street, so faults are often nowhere near the building and locating them properly is what keeps a repair small. My hot water system failed and it isn't that old. Why?
Sydney's water is soft, so unlike harder-water cities it's rarely limescale that kills a unit here. Usually it's a spent sacrificial anode or a failed element, which we can often repair. We'll tell you whether a repair or a replacement is the smarter spend before touching it.
Why is the blockage always so far from the house?
Very likely. Much of Castle Hill sits on Usually roots at one joint rather than the ground itself. On a thirty metre run there are plenty of joints and, on blocks this size, plenty of established planting above them. We locate which joint before quoting, because lining is priced per metre and the answer changes the price.
Do you work on the original 1970s and 80s houses?

Add thirty metres of run and the pressure at the far end drops further. We calculate the load against the actual distance before connecting, which is the difference between a heater that works and one that disappoints every winter.
